Under 11 Tournament Entry Details
This year at the Cambridge Volleyball Tournament there will be a Volley Sport Tournament for children under 11 years old. Entries are open to teams of U'11s from any school or club in the country and will be well supported from the Cambridge region.
Volley Sport is the recognised competition format for volleyball for the U’11 age category. Teams are comprised of 2 players and they play a modified version of volleyball. It is designed to encourage fun play while improving the fundamental skills of volleyball. Boys and girls can play together or against each other. The Volley Sport court is a reduced size - the net is lower (2.15m) and the court dimensions are smaller (4m x 12m). Lighter match balls are also used (Mikasa MGV-200).
To enter a team, please complete the forms below and return them back to the tournament organisers as soon as possible. Space is limited and is first come first served. Each team will be required to send;
- A team entry form, with both players details filled-in (download).
- A personal registration form FOR EACH PLAYER.
- The entry fee.Complete entries should be sent to Cambridge Volleyball Tournament, 48 Canterbury Street, Cambridge CB4 3QF, and will be confirmed on receipt.
Competition Rules
1. Catch and Throw Permitted
2. Service from behind the attack zone with either an underarm throw or underarm serve
3. Minimum of 1 Pass (pass must be to another player)
4. Maximum of 3 contacts
5. Limited 1 second contact on attack shot
a. Ball can be held for up to 1 second before going over the net
b. Ball can be tipped and not hit
c. Attack Shot must come from within the Attack Zone
6. Interference from Neighbouring Balls results in a Replay Point
7. Net touch by players are strictly prohibited
8. Penetration under the net is permitted provided it does not interfere with play
9. When not playing, it is expected the players will referee and keep score of the other matches
